Mediationist
The Problem
The challenge is to design an accessible and user-centered XR solution in the field of emerging technologies that supports and enhances therapy by helping clients better understand, process, and practice their emotions and behaviors in a safe and engaging environment.
My role
As a UX/UI designer, my role in this project is to design a user-centered solution that integrates Extended Reality (XR) into the mental healthcare experience. I am responsible for translating complex user needs—both from clients and therapists—into intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital interactions.
Throughout the project, I focus on understanding user behavior, identifying pain points within current therapeutic processes, and exploring how XR can meaningfully enhance these experiences. By combining research, interaction design, and visual design, I aim to create a solution that is not only innovative but also practical, safe, and easy to use in a sensitive healthcare context.
My goal is to ensure that the technology supports the user, rather than overwhelms them, by designing an experience that feels natural, supportive, and effective in improving therapeutic outcomes.
The Solution
For this particular case I made an environment where people with anxiety can meditate to become more calm and less anxious. Alongside with proper research and through some iteration I came to this concept, Mediationist.
The whole process is designed by the design way of thinking. From problem finding to research and validation and testing, this is the final product. See the demo down below.
